Nuggets gleaned while catwaxing

While avoiding working on my book by surrounding myself with other people's at a local used bookstore, I came across one of the weakest book blurbs I've seen in my life:

Giant's Bread by Mary Westmacott (aka Agatha Christie)
"A satisfactory novel..." -- The New Yorks Times

Talk about damning with faint praise.

  1. Wow. That makes me feel better about "A talent to watch..."

  2. I found another one today that said "File under guilty pleasures." Not so bad, but it was the only blurb on the entire book. Not only that, it was the only text on the back cover!
